The JavaScript Engineer is responsible for the implementation of scalable, high-throughput, low-latency web and mobile applications for our cloud-based communications platform.

 

The JavaScript Engineer’s primary role will be web application development requiring a mastery of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. They must develop, test and document their own code using industry best practices and company policies, specifically following test-driven development, distributed SCM, and the Scrum methodology.

The JavaScript Engineer is also responsible for contributing expertise in JavaScript, the Web browser, and Javascript frameworks towards the design of a highly scalable web application architecture. They will participate in and contribute towards code and design reviews, and must exhibit a thorough understanding of server-side development techniques, general software architecture, design patterns, security, scalability and performance. The JavaScript Engineer is responsible for project-managing development efforts for a globally distributed team and is expected to spend approximately 10-12% of their time to mentor junior developers.

- A diverse portfolio of live Web projects is required.

- 7+ years experience.
